Client Feedback

Copy of an email sent to us from a bride to a prospective client:
Hi Susie - Congrats on your engagement!  :)  To cut to the chase, I'll just tell you that Kimberly is a godsend.  If it's an testament to how amazing she is/was, I cried at the end of the night and we hugged goodbye because I realized that my professional relationships with her was over.  We became "best friends" the week before my wedding.

To start, Kimberly did all of our stationery, so she really 'got us.'  I had made up a day-of-timeline, and while reviewing it, she noticed all these things I had forgotten; little details like where I had written "girls meet in Lori's room for lunch"...she asked me, "who is bringing you lunch?"  I thought "oops...forgot that one."

Basically, her wedding planning package includes essentially a "week of" where she called all my vendors to clarify EVERY detail...she even picked up my flowers because my entire family was here from out-of-town (so they were kind of helpless in that sense) and my new hubbie's family is....well....rather uninvolved.  So she drove all the way from her house to downtown, back to the wedding site.  She arrived very early and just periodically checked in on me to see if I needed anything.  She was the PERFECT balance of being "there" just enough, but not overly in your face (not that she could ever be that, but you know what I mean).  Because we had a really large wedding she had an assistant with her, so I never felt like "where is Kimberly??"  When I had 2 questions, I called her cell from mine, and her answer was always "that's already been taken care of."

Another thing I should mention, my husband and I had an interfaith wedding (he is Catholic and I'm Jewish) so there were plenty of details, and coordinating with BOTH a Rabbi and a Priest, and Kimberly was amazing at that.  She totally made, assembled, and decorated our huppah (the Jewish wedding canopy) and we literally handed her 4 poles and stands, a few yards of fabric, some fake ivy and said "go to town."  And Susie, the huppah was SO GORGEOUS I cried when I saw it.  Again, it's like she just totally "got me."

So this email is rather disorganized, and I'm just rambling my thoughts as they come to me, but I really SHOULD comment on two things about Kimberly:  She is INCREDIBLY organized, and INCREDIBLY warm & outgoing.  Everyone in my family & wedding party loved her to pieces and agreed that things would not have been nearly as perfect as they were without her.  I never needed to ask anyone what time it was, because Kimberly would calmly come up to me and say, "Sweetie, it's time for you to come downstairs now" or "sweetie, it's time for you to start getting dressed"...that kind of thing.  Somehow that woman managed to keep ME sane & calm, and coordinate a huge wedding with 200+ guests and a good size wedding party, and lots of out-of-towners.

She met with our reception site vendor the week of the wedding with my Mom and I, and cleared up a bunch of stuff that I would never have thought of (again, little details like how many bottles of wine to order).  She helped save us money and bargained about a few things with the reception site.

Susie, I hope this helps, and again, I'm sorry for the "rambling."  In a nutshell, I owe a lifetime of gratitude to Kimberly...she is truly a GEM and I feel very close to her after having shared that day with her.  I would think to call her in a HEARTBEAT if I ever needed any event coordinating (obviously I hope not to marry again!)  :)  but she's just incredible.  I did not worry about a THING and I guarantee you'll have the same experience if you work with her.  In fact, you'll probably say 15 times during the day what I kept saying, "How in the hell do people do this withOUT a wedding coordinator?"    I kid you not that I just got to hang out in my huge beautiful bridal suite at the Crowne Plaza, get my hair done, drink wine, do my make-up, and feel pretty all day, while Kimberly ran around and did EVERYTHING.  She also keeps her calm very well....if she was stressed (which I assume she had to be), she never showed it for a second.

Oh, one other thing, that is a testament to how amazing she is:  apparently (unbeknownst to me at the time), my 82 y/o grandmother went into a hypoglycemic diabetic insulin reaction during the very beginning of the reception.  Paramedics had to come INTO the reception room and take her out on a stretcher!  Would you believe that I did not know a LICK of it?  Kimberly kept me distracted off to my other side, and had people build a "barrier" so that I couldn't see a thing!!  How amazing is that?  She also apparently told everyone to keep their traps shut about telling me so as not to ruin my wedding day.  I later just heard that my little Nana "wasn't feeling well and had to go lay down" (which isn't unusual) but that's all Kimberly would let me know.  For all I know she was asking me how dinner tasted...I can't remember, but she would not let me look to my left and see the EMT scene.  Pretty incredible, huh?

So, my dear, I pass on to you Kimberly with fairy dust, kisses, ribbons, and love!  She's a gem, and you will always remember her with such special warm memories...I promise.  I even begged her to take a picture with me, just for the memory.  She was like, "No!  I shouldn't be in your pictures!"  And I said, "Shut up and take a picture with me!"  :)  I felt the same way about our DJ (Jimmy Hussey, by the way)...sometimes a certain vendor is just so friggin amazing and makes your wedding day PERFECT that you cherish their involvement!!  :)

Do let me know if you have any other questions, or we can talk on the phone if you prefer.

Warmly,
Lori

Kimberly - From the bottom of my heart, I have to thank you for everything this weekend.  You have been such a gem to us, and my family (and wedding party) absolutely adore you.  I had NOTHING to worry about (even with a fainting bridesmaid and diabetic grandma) you kept me sane, calm, and so joyous.  All night everyone kept telling us it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to, and when the room is still packed at midnight and the DJ is leaving, you know your wedding was a success!!  :)

You made the day so special for my family and me, and we feel incredibly indebted to you.  I wanted to personally thank you and Stacie for being such incredible people and so personally invested in your bride & groom.  I don't know how people pull off a big wedding without someone like you...I suppose they do and just stress the majority of the time.  But you will forever be a part of our wedding memory, and I wanted to thank you deeply and sincerely.

If you ever need a recommendation or a poster girl or a plug for D&D, don't hesitate to contact me.  You are a star in my book...hands down.

You are so warm and so wonderful.  It's people like you who make a wedding a "joy" rather than just a big business.
Oh, before I forget, Doug wanted me to tell you that he LOVED you.  He said "I don't know squat about wedding planners, but Kimberly was running around taking care of everything...she was amazing."  It was cute.  And he felt strongly that I pass that on to you.  We really had SO MUCH fun at the wedding, and I owe you tons and tons of gratitude.

Much love,
Lori B.  :)

Hello!  I wanted to let you know that everyone loves our invitations!  Simple and elegant is all I have heard from everyone!

Kacey

Kimberly,
I received my invitations on Wednesday and they look amazing! I can't wait to send them out!

Thanks for your hard work; it was a pleasure working with you.

-Erin

I am just getting settled back in from the honeymoon and I wanted to send you an email and let you know how fabulously your work went over at the wedding.

I got rave reviews on the programs for the ceremony. My Great Aunt Blanche sent my Mom a letter to tell her how proud she was to be her aunt--she had never seen such beautiful programs in all her 85 years.

The favors were so unique. It was thrilling to arrive at my Mom's house and see that my wedding favors had arrived and her house had been peppered in pink polka dots and cracker jacks. They looked fabulous on the tables at the reception, and after dinner was over, I noticed EVERY SINGLE WOMAN (and quite a few men) had "diamond rings" on their fingers. I got so many compliments about every detail of the wedding, the place cards, the favors, the table cards--everyone loved them.

I can't thank you enough for all of the work you did for our wedding. From the Save the Dates to the Invites for both the wedding and rehearsal, the programs, the place cards, the favors, the table numbers--it's overwhelming. Each detail was so unique and elegant!
Thank you thank you thank you! I look forward to continuing in our relationship in the years to come! I have recommended your business to all of my friends and family, and I plan on using you in the future for Christmas cards, baby announcements, etc...

Tess and Michael
